About the photo, it is Mizubasho, which is called Skunk Cabbage in English.
I use its Japanese name, Mizubasho. I took the photo at Sashimaki Moor Mizubasho Colony, Senboku City, Akita, Japan.

座禅草という名前は僧侶が座禅を組む姿に似ているから付けられたそうです。
ザゼンソウの別名は達磨草(ダルマソウ)です。
Zazenso is also blooming in Sashimaki Moor Mizubasho Colony, Senboku City, Akita , Japan. Zazenso’s English name is Eastern Skunk Cabbage. Japanese name Zazenso is from Zazen, which is a Buddhism’s word and the form of meditation. It is said that the flower form is like Zazen. When coming out, it has fever and melts snow around it. Another name is Daruma-so, which is from a Buddhist priest Daruma.
写真は本日の当地の桜です。鶸色(ひわいろ)は日本の伝統色です。
The photo is today’s cherry tree April 16th. Hiwairo is one of Japanese traditional colors and it is from the color of the bird Siskin’s feather.

There is Yokote Castle in the park, so it is also called the castle-mountain / Oshiro-Yama お城山.

About the photo, it is a drooping (weeping) cherry tree on the Samurai Houses Street in Kakunodate, Senboku City, Akita, Japan.
※ 5月5日は子どもの日です。写真は秋田県湯沢市皆瀬で撮りました。子どもの日はもともとは男の子の端午の節句でしたが、1948年に子どもの日に制定されました。女の子のお節句の雛祭は3月3日になっています。
May 5th is Children’s Day in Japan. The photo was taken at Minase Dam, in Minase, Yuzawa City, Akita, Japan. On that day, the family having the boy raises carp streamers or display the dolls for boys such as Samurai Doll, wishing for their boy’s happiness and good health. Children’s Day was originally for boys festival called Tango-no-Sekku but it was designated a national holiday as Children’s Day by the Japanese government in 1948. By the way, girls’ festival called Hina Dolls Festival is March 3th in Japan.
