1

sea waves

roll from far away

white peaks

 

浦波や遠白き峰より寄する

 

2

travelling back

from the waves of bliss

a foam-leap

 

波の花 至福の高まりからの旅帰り

 

3

cloud over cloud

darken earth and hide stars:

dawn and dust one

 

雲に雲 地を闇にし星をさえぎり夜明にちり一つ

 

4

a crescent

in the western horizon–

missing the moon

 

西空に沈む三日月や….月恋ほし

 

5

hangs with breath

the knotted pain

in the chest

 

息づけば胸にもつれた痛みあり

 

6

alone on the platform

wait for the train

swatting mosquitoes

 

蚊を叩きプラットフォームに独り電車待つ

 

7

the village pond–

waiting for her arrival with

a baited hook

 

村の池…

餌付きの鉤持ち

彼女の到着を待つ

on a cycle

he sells bouquets and roses

peddling dreams

 

自転車でブーケに薔薇売り夢を撒く

a load of wood

on her frail back–

autumn evening

 

薪束や彼女のか細き背に…秋の暮れ

hanging

by a spider’s thread–

the wanton leaf

 

蜘蛛の糸みだらな木の葉つるしをり

going drowsily

milk can in hand–

morning walk

 

ねぶたげにミルク缶持ち朝散歩

walking over

a carpet of dried leaves

footsteps crunch

 

ざくざくと一面の枯葉を歩む

away from home

smell of frying fish

in the air

 

旅の空 揚げ魚の匂い漂う

her fingers

I taste in the orange

she peels

 

彼女の指は剥いたオレンジの味がする

 

15

her eyes flash in dark

the eel slides into her cave

I watch the mirror

 

闇に閃く女の目

うなぎが彼女の穴に滑り込み

われは鏡を見る

 

16

a yellow snake

slithers on the grass–

dewy trail of love

 

黄色い蛇が

草の上をずるずる滑る―

露帯びた愛の痕跡

 

17

the bed is short

and the covering shorter–

crouching alone

 

ベッドは短く

カバーは更に短し 

…一人蹲まる

squeaking

under the blue moon

dry sky

 

ブルームーンの下できしむ乾いた空

 

19

truce between 

two lizards inside

the light fixture

 

蜥蜴二匹が停戦す電灯裡

 

20

no letters today–

addresses of his dead friends

greying in diary

 

文無き今日…

日記の中で亡き友のアドレスは灰色となる
