Three pieces for Oyasu Valley in Autumn, in Minase, Yuzawa City, Akita.  The site has hot springs and it is famous for the colored leaves in autumn.

Fudo Falls

gushing, splashing up…

the sounds of

falling water harmonize deeply

with alluring leaves in autumn

2.

sunlight falling…

autumn grace reflecting

on the valley river

the surface of water twinkles

brightening iridescent

3.

with the vapor

the wonderous hot spring flow

hazing around…

wishing my finger heal

I put it in for a bit

※  I have tendonitis in my left thumb.

somehow deserted temple

where the priest died…

we parishioners

ask about our future

with anxiety

5.

the chief priest

of the next village’s temple

left Buddhist service for us…

his son, young priest, chants sutra

with a clean voice

6.

by

the fading harvested rice field…

tall goldenrods standing

yellow colors brighten up

in morning sunshine

7.

piercing cold

falling over

the temperature is 2℃/ 35.6℉

around 6 o’clock in the morning

I hear swans in the sky

※It was November 4th. 11

clinging to autumn

wild fields where leaves entangle

languish in colors

silver grasses glow tall

weeds get lower

9.

pursuing

my lonely way without

rushing…

the world is

not where I live all alone

10.

over the field

of silver grasses becoming

slightly white

before snowfall…

leaves of cherry trees falling
