白雪の零るるばかりしきふれば幼なの頃の花苑(はなぞの)ぞ開(あ)く
unending
white snow falling
and spilling…
my childhood nostalgic
flower garden opens up

寒波鳴る荒びの風雪ことごとく真白にかへし現し身こもる
echoing cold wave…
the winter-raging snow
returns
all to pure white
I shut myself in

雪雲の透けてひきゆく間に描くわが想念のあれこれかも
all my thoughts
and feelings to draw
while snow clouds
are moving in and out
through my heart

いま君はいづこに居るや ソーシャルメディアにちらほら光(て)る君の影
Now
where are you?
Your shadow
flickering and shiny
on social media

冬山の道は閉ざされ進み得ず谷間にあぎとふ行方のしるべ
Winter mountain…
my path is closed, and cannot
be followed
While panting in the valley
I seek a sign

大寒波の雲におほはれ谷暗し水な凍てそ凍てそと忍ぶる
valley is
dark with a major cold wave
now, be patient
hoping that water
won’t freeze, won’t freeze

白銀の嶺嶺(ねね)の杉なみ凛凛とあやしの雲へ透(す)き立ちにけり
all pure white
graceful cedars in each ridge
rising
through the mysterious
snow clouds

束縛のにほひにふるへ歩きけり雪原燦く冬晴れの朝
Restraint…
I walk quivering
with its smell
It’s a fine winter morning
with sparkling snowfields

従順のつひに叫びき「われ違ふ！」囲の渦中 時は流れて
Obedience
finally exclaimed
‘I’m not so’
in an enclosing world
…time flows

深雪にし熟睡(うまい)の闇は覚めがたし彩（いろ）冴ゆる地は春の香はこぶ
because of deep snow
it’s hard to wake from the dark
in a sound sleep
spring fragrance will bring
a vivid, colourful land
