tango no sekku     

beholding many carps  

flutter in the air  

端午の節句

たくさんの鯉が空中にはためくのが見える

golden wedding

I put on the sweater

the girl knitted

金婚式

私は娘が編んだセーターを着る

winter evening

mom serves hot soup

with foggy glasses

冬の夕方

母さんが温かいスープを出す

曇った眼鏡で

full moon’s night

my boy succeeds in

counting stars

満月の夜

息子が星を数えるのに成功

flying away without

flapping its wings

runway

羽ばたかずに飛び去る

滑走路

a gust of wind

the half veiled face

totally revealed   

突風

半分隠された顔が全部現れた

rusty lock

lovers never

下初

疏楼阁闲

陌上人行

under the bridge

the water begins to freeze

from elm and willow trees

the leaves start falling

more and more rooms

of the inn become vacant

and few foot-travelers

can be beheld

walking in the street

橋の下で

水が凍り始める

ニレと柳の木から

葉が落ち始める

旅館の空室が

どんどん増えていく

徒歩旅行者も

ほとんど見られない
