En la fuente de la plaza
comparten el baño
drought –
in the fountain of the square
they share the bath

Noche cálida.
Sólo el canto de un grillo
en el campo
warm night –
the chirping of a cricket
in the country

En la playa
los niños juntan plásticos.
Una tortuga muerta…
in the beach
the children collect plastics –
a dead turtle…

Más heladas
y radiación solar…
Magnolias en flor
more frost
and solar radiation…
magnolias in bloom

Sol brumoso.
Las capas de humo
cubren la ciudad…
misty sun –
layers of smoke
cover the city…

Deslizamiento de tierra.
En las casas destruidas
canta un pájaro
landslide –
in the destroyed houses
a bird sings

Aletea un pichón
a orillas del río seco.
Abre más el pico…
a chick flaps
by the bank of the dry river –
it opens its beak more…

Meses sin lluvia.
En el espejo sucio
el niño dibuja un círculo
months without rain –
in the dirty mirror
the child draws a circle

Terremoto.
Una linterna de piedra
sigue encendida
earthquake –
a stone lantern
continues lighting

No hay comida…
En la cara de la niña
una lágrima tras otra
there’s no food…

Brief Bio
Jorge Alberto Giallorenzi was born on 28th February, 1947 in Chivilcoy, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
He is a photographer, an architect and a haiku lover.
He does research about Taneda Santoka. Collector of envelopes and tea boxes.
He gives workshops with Julia Guzmán in different provinces of Argentina.
He has published two books of haiku, “Aniko y Akiro”, 2009 and “Helechos en la cornisa”, 2016. His haiku have been published in different anthologies in Colombia, England, Ghana, Morocco, Japan, Spain and USA.
Organizer and editor of the international haiku monthly publication “Cutlass Moon Space” in Arabic, English, Italian, Japanese, Malti, Polish and Spanish languages. XII International Haiku Meeting 2022 –in Argentina- October 26, 27 and 28.
Proposal: Universality of Haiku.
Breve biografía
Jorge Alberto Giallorenzi nació el 28 de febrero de 1947 en Chivilcoy, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Es fotógrafo, arquitecto y amante del haiku. Investiga sobre Taneda Santoka. Coleccionista de sobres y cajas de té. Imparte talleres con Julia Guzmán en diferentes provincias de Argentina. Ha publicado dos libros de haiku, “Aniko y Akiro”, 2009 y “Helechos en la cornisa”, 2016. Sus haiku han sido publicados en diferentes antologías en Colombia, Inglaterra, Ghana, Marruecos, Japón, España y USA.
Organizador y editor de la publicación mensual internacional de haiku “Cutlass Moon Space” en árabe, inglés, italiano, japonés, malti, polaco y español. XII Encuentro Internacional de Haiku 2022 –en Argentina- 26, 27 y 28 de octubre. Propuesta: Universalidad del Haiku.
