Haiku by Karen O’Leary
the earth delivers
a bountiful harvest
Green Giant
______________
the earth moves
I try to keep
up with it
______________
tucking seeds
in the loamy soil
my tummy rumbles
______________
earth’s bounty
the factory captures
vegetables in cans
______________
stakes in moist earth
the tent collapses
at midnight
______________
the boy scouts clean
ditches on earth day
“call this celebrating”
______________
fresh tilled earth
it sifts through
the farmer’s fingers
______________
earthquake the family splits
______________
he plows
cornstalks into the earth
going green
______________
Mother Earth’s tears
more topsoil slides
into the sea
______________
