銀朱の躑躅を背にし今がわが旬と蕗(ふふき)の青々とのぶ
vermillion
azaleas behind them…
Akita butterburs
lushly growing, saying
“Now, my time”
2-
蕗の間の妖精見むと茎分けゆけば光差し緑さはだつ
when I look
for fairies hiding among
butterburs
a ray of light shining through
freshening the greenery
3-
墓標裏しだるる藤の紫の風になびける回忌法要
behind the grave…
drooping purple flowers
of wisteria
sway in the breezes
on the memorial service day
4-
鏡田の水面おだしく朝日映ゆ我があらたなる一日(ひとひ)踏みそむ
rising sun
reflecting on the water’s surface
of the paddy
like a calm mirror
I start a new day today

淡墨(うすずみ)に黄砂まどへる五月空めぐり来る気は拒みがたしも
May sky
with yellow sand drifting
in grey
it’s hard to reject the air
visiting by circulation
6-
ひたぶるに風にゆだぬる我が生に花の光(かげ)だに残りけるかな
although
my life is empty, being left
to the wind
only the sparkling of flowers
is still inside me
7-
揺れそよぐ下枝（しずえ）のもとにマーガレット白く際際一群に咲く
under swaying
lower branches of the tree
a family of Marguerite
blooms in white
knowing their own place

われもまた地に生を享け個に生きむ牡丹の蕾さみだれに濡る
also, I’m born
on earth and must live
for an ego…
peony buds are
wet with early summer rain

蔦もゆる野辺の木のもと紫のゆかりほのぼの菫ちりばむ
purple bond…
violets faintly blooming
and scattering
under the tree
that ivies are entwining
10-
たまちはふ不死鳥留まる桐の花ひろらなる野に紫にほふ
graceful spirits…
paulownia, on which Phoenix
alights
flowering in the vast fields
with purple fragrance
