艶やかな緋色の茱萸にひらめきの残火を見ゆる稲荷社前
silverberry…
shiny ruby-coloured fruit
I see afterglow
of the radiance in it
in front of Inari Shrine
2.
天われの然にあるらむをゆるさざるか…黙々と狐が原をゆく
Heaven
doesn’t seem to allow
me to be so…
I go on walking through
the fox field in silence
3.
雷神の雨已みしのち四照花は雫淋漓と天へ花咲く
After rain
of the God of Thunder…
While spilling drops
Yamaboushi blooms
into the welkin
※Cornus kousa/ dogwood is called Yamaboushi in Japan.

早稲の青さゆりきらめく夏越月(なごしづき)わが病みもまた御祓へたまへ
June…
early green rice plants
brightening
and wishing for good health
may my illness also improve
5.
三回忌経ちにけるかと君おもへば隣家の猫の奇(く)しき眼差し
remembering it’s
been already three years
since you passed away…
I touched mysterious eyes
of next door’s cat
6.
窓越に道の角より猫一匹われを見上げて佇みにけり
standing
at the corner of the street
a cat
stares up me
…through my window

梅雨じめる朝に揺れたる栗の花わが肩ほどにやさしく枝垂る
wet morning
in the summer rainy season…
chestnut blossoms
swaying, drooping gently
and touching my shoulder

曇天にほのり紅さす若楓ときの翳りに永遠(とわ)を点さむ
cloudy sky…
young maple leaves with
faint crimson
lighting up eternity
in the shadow of time

えもいはれぬ花の咲くとふ我が道に時は越したか青時雨ふる
It is said
Heavenly flowers in bloom
On my way…
Is it over time?
Greenish drizzle falling

咲くほどに白くふくらみアナベルは水無月の曇天さらふ

white
and puffy Annabelle
takes away June clouds
