Haiku by Margherita Petriccione
Christmas carols –
increasingly gloomy
the peddler’s cough
Canti di Natale –
la tosse dell’ambulante
sempre più cupa
the baby runs
ahead of her granny-
winter dusk
il bambino corre
davanti a sua nonna-
crepuscolo invernale
Christmas …
a stack of fridge containers
in the sink
Natale …
una pila di contenitori frigo
nel lavandino

ultima foglia…
il peso della nebbia
la fa cadere

serac …
a little less strength
every day
seracco…
un po’ meno forza
ogni giorno

the little wings
of a purple bumblebee-
dry garden
le piccole ali
di un calabrone viola –
giardino secco
hair cut –
so invisible the paths
of the waiver
taglio di capelli –
così invisibili i sentieri
della rinuncia
last flights …
someone else is waiting
for the swallows
ultimi voli…
qualcun altro in attesa
delle rondini

still vaccines …
preparing a list
of places to visit
ancora vaccini…
preparazione di un elenco
di luoghi da visitare

something more
