Haiku by Philomene Kocher
deep winter
moonlight
on the solar panel
first star
a rustle of last year’s leaves
on the oak tree
full moon
at the bus stop
the streetlight turns on
backtracking in the snow
some of my footprints
already drifted in
snowscape
a hawk rests
on the power line
this grey day
so many robins feeding
on last year’s sumac fruit
lunar eclipse
the scent of apple blossoms
a bumblebee returns
to the heart
of the wild rose
years later
new shoots
from the tree stump
hometown visit
the leafless weeping willow
and the wind
