野末路に淡き花かげ藤袴

thoroughworts…

fragrant with faint floral light

on the end of my path

朝霧やカラスの眼光 田を射抜く

morning fog…

crow’s keen eyes piercing

through the rice field

ミゾソバや季(とき)の乙女の直香(ただか)かぐ

water pepper…

I smell its fragrance

瑠璃紺に茄子漬かがよふ 母の味

pickled eggplants shine

in lapis lazuli blue

… my mother’s taste

秋冷や気温差十度 昨日(きぞ)と今日

autumn chill…

between yesterday and today

ten degrees difference

おろぎなきみ空に紅(あか)き七竈

cloudless…

clear, beautiful sky spreading

crimson rowan shines

異国(とつくに)の戦争うれふ秋の虹

worries about

the foreign land’s war, prayers

to autumn rainbow

月あかり見あぐる平和 宇の人は

peace

looking up the moonlight …

how’s it in Ukraine?

露の侵攻 物価上昇すさまじき

Russian invasion…

tremendous price increasing

through the world

節電と奥より出()だす湯婆(たんぽ)かな

save electricity…

I pull the hot-water bottle

out of the deepest

<Brief Biography >

A member of ‘Tanka Association Mirai,’ ‘Muro Saisei Learned Society’ and ‘Akita International Haiku Network. Rika Inami mainly composes tanka poetry. She has written it for twenty years, and the subject is primarily nature in Akita, where she lives.

She published some books, including her tanka works written in English and Japanese, and the translation book from English haiku and tanka into Japanese fixed ones.
