water pepper…
I smell its fragrance

pickled eggplants shine
in lapis lazuli blue
… my mother’s taste

秋冷や気温差十度 昨日(きぞ)と今日
autumn chill…
between yesterday and today
ten degrees difference

<Brief Biography >
A member of ‘Tanka Association Mirai,’ ‘Muro Saisei Learned Society’ and ‘Akita International Haiku Network. Rika Inami mainly composes tanka poetry. She has written it for twenty years, and the subject is primarily nature in Akita, where she lives.
She published some books, including her tanka works written in English and Japanese, and the translation book from English haiku and tanka into Japanese fixed ones.
