Haiku by Sally Quon
in the snowy dawn
the white hunter takes flight
meadow voles beware!
lotus flower blooms
I reach for enlightenment –
fall into water
prized tomato
lays on the ground;
one bite missing
long legs

paper wasp
dark forest path
where does it lead?
a bed of purple bellflower;
one Black-eyed Susan
stands alone
another ripe tomato
vanished from it’s stem
damn marmots!
Magpie
calling from the rooftop
the coming rain
fields of Mullien
splay tiny yellow blossoms
the silent sky
refusing to let go-
dandelion down
quivers in the breeze
