worms on the way out

a historical bridge
still tightly holding
the two river banks

the Bora carrying away
circling seagulls

erasing the borders
between garden beds

a mowed meadow
the bees moved

Biography
Vilma Knežević was born in 1954, she lives and creates in the town of Viškovo, Croatia. Poetry she started to write in the grammar school. She is a member of Matrix Croatica,
the Viškovo branch. Haiku she started to write as a retiree and so far, she published two haiku collections: U tišini jutra/With the Silence of the Morning (2010) and Kradljivci trešanja/The Cherry thieves (2015).
Her inspiration she collects from the moments spent in nature, its breath and colors, the beauty of the sky, sea, woods, loving and cradling the whole planet. She enjoys long walks, takes photos of her favorite sights and spends time with other poets. At the moment she prepares for print a book of poetry for children, as well.
