approaching winter

migratory birds busy

packing their belongings  

近づく冬

忙しい渡り鳥

持ち物を梱包

winter trip

unfamiliar passengers

sit close together

冬の旅行

見知らぬ乗客

近くに座る

winter night

the figures bend against

the wind and rain   

冬の夜

人の影が曲がる

風と雨に逆らって

lively baby

mother lulls herself

to slumber

元気な赤ちゃん

母があやして

寝かしつける

inundation

installing a springboard

at 2nd floor window    

浸水

踏み台を取り付ける

A Chinese Haiku

昨夜一

干荷老柄风摇荡

寂寞秋江上       

a heavy frost has

occurred last night

the dry brown stems of

the lotuses swing in the wind

what a sight of loneliness

about the autumn river

ひどい霜が

昨夜降りた

蓮の乾いた褐色の茎が

風に揺れる

なんと寂寥たる光景だろう

秋の川
