Haiku beyond Earth「天上俳句会」Haiku by Voronoi Oleg in Russia (8)

***

Involuntarily…

I dip the brush of my thoughts

into the sea waves…

muishiki ni  shikō wo wasure  nami wo miru

***

No, you can’t find

anything more beautiful…

Sunset and the sea…

zessei ya  yūhi to umi no  utsukushi-sa

***

New thoughts

can be spied on in the sea…

Waves are waves…

nami wa nami  umi no umidasu  shin-shisō

***

The night was illuminated

with a magical glow…

The moon over the sea…

umi no tsuki  mahō no gotoku  yo wo terasu

***

From our glances

Even the sea brightens…

We look with a smile…

shisen uke  umi mo akaruku  narini keri

***

I ran away from myself…

But it turns out –

I ran to the sea…

eien no  umi to issho ni  sugoshi keri

***

Leave me alone, cuckoo!

I want to listen to the seagulls,

stroke the waves…

nami wo nade  kiki-tai koe wa  kamome dake

***

The waves recede,

and caress the shore again…

With us, it’s all the same…

hiku nami no  mata kishi wo nazu  eien ni

***

The whirlwind writes letters

on the surface of the sea…

Reads the Sky…

sora wo yomi  senpū no moji  kaimen ni

A unique book, “The Thread Connecting Poetry,” has been published. Oleg Voronoi is very pleased that his haiku from the taiga made it into it…

THE THREAD CONNECTING POETRY

A grand book of Chinese-Russian poetry, “The Thread Connecting Poetry,” has been published.

The project was launched in 2016. It was created by the Literary and Creative Association “Otdushina” of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Institute of World Literature of the Shanghai University of Foreign Languages with the active support of the All-Russian public organization “Public Russian Academy of Arts”, the Union of Writers of Russia and the National Literary Prize “Golden Pen of Rus'”.

The book presents ancient Chinese poetry and works by modern Chinese poets such as Zhang Zhi, Wang Men Ren, Yang Jizun, Li Zuo, Fei Yifei, etc.

The classics of Russian poetry are voiced by the poet-diplomats of the 19th century A.S. Pushkin, F.I. Tyutchev, and the modern works of poet-diplomats by the names of S.V. Lavrov, E.I. Primakov, A.A. Bessmertnykh, V.N. Kazimirov, K.M. Barsky, V.I. Masalov, etc.

The reader will also hear the voices of modern Russian poets Svetlana Savitskaya, Oleg Voronoi, Vasily Tishkov, Olga Namestnikova, Yusuf Aslan, Igor Grigoriev, etc.

The Publishing House of the N.E. Zhukovsky Academy did a great job. The poetry is decorated with portraits of the authors and unique illustrations on 400 pages, tinted with brown and sunny shades.

The book, in stitching, A5 format, with a hard lacquered cover with bamboo and birch leaves, turned out to be a true work of art, which both countries – Russia and China – are proud of.

What is especially pleasant is that the welcoming words about the unique volume were given by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Viktorovich Lavrov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of China Wang Yi.

S.V. Lavrov, in particular, noted: “This is not accidental: Smolenskaya Square has always appreciated the skillful use of the pen, the refinement of words and thoughts.”

Mr. Wang Yi emphasized that “In China, over 5,000 years of history, a galaxy of outstanding poets were born, leaving humanity examples of exquisite and enchanting poetry. In Russia, poetry is also traditionally treated with great love. They say about your country that there are so many poets there that one leaf of a tree is sung by two poets at once.” The book has mirror translations from Russian into Chinese and from Chinese into Russian.

The Publishing House thanks all the editors, proofreaders, authors and translators who put all their strength and soul into these beautiful pages. And especially for the assistance provided in publishing the collection, we announce to the President of the Ryazan Community of Russia Terenin Alexander Vasilyevich and Patron Sandin Yuri Semenovich.

With respect to the entire team, Doctor of Philosophy, writer, General Curator of the project “Golden Pen of Rus”
