shadows glide across

clouding the cheerful bower

my lone hiding place

 

影が滑るように横切る

楽しい木陰を暗くしながら

私の唯一の隠れ場所

 

counting the days

black crow knocks at the window

cold wind’s hollow voice

 

日数を数えている

黒いカラスが窓を叩く

冷たい風のうつろな声

 

early winter night frost–

the door opening gently

a framed pale moon

 

初冬の夜の霜—

ドアがそっと開く

額装された淡い月

 

dreams fading away

behind the door bubbles tea

morning page opens

 

夢が消えていく

ドアの後ろでお茶が沸く

朝のページが開く

 

paper flags wave in the autumn wind

whispering words and sprinkle letters

words fall to the ground

 

紙の旗が秋風にはためく

囁いている言葉と振りまかれた文字

言葉が地面に落ちる

 

lights glare from the dark

tree leaf

a wind instrument

 

光が暗闇からまぶしく輝く

木の葉

吹奏楽器

 

smell of fresh coffee

dispels grey negative thoughts

I welcome day light

 

新鮮なコーヒーの香り

灰色の否定的な考えを払拭する

私は日の明るさを歓迎する

 

remains of a dream

moonlight a pale mountain hem 

steam of a morning tea

 

夢のまま

月明かりの薄い山の裾

朝のお茶の湯気

 

strong lunar poems

pull shy stars from the dark sky

heal a broken heart

 

力強い月の詩

暗い空から恥ずかしがり屋の星を引っ張る

傷ついた心を癒やす

 

waves with white blue crowns

bringing message to the shore

from the other side

 

白くて青い冠の波が海岸にメッセージをもたらす

対岸から

BIO:

Eduard Schmidt-Zorner is a translator and writer of poetry, haibun, haiku and short stories.

He writes haibun, tanka, haiku and poetry in four languages: English, French, Spanish and German and holds workshops on Japanese and Chinese style poetry and prose.

Member of four writer groups in Ireland and lives in County Kerry, Ireland, for more than 25 years and is a proud Irish citizen, born in Germany.

Published in 76 anthologies, literary journals and broadsheets in UK, Ireland, Canada and USA.
