a field of dandelions
a dog and a hawk following
playful lambs

たんぽぽの野

追いかける犬と鷹

陽気な子羊たちを

forest echoes –
a lumberjack trampling on
the field of irises

森の反響

木こりが踏みつける

アイリスの野を

sound of waves –
a seashell whispers
goodnight story

波の音

貝殻のささやき

おやすみの話

summer drought –
only morning glory
grace my garden

夏の干ばつ

朝顔だけ

私の庭に恵み

clear sky –
sparrows dust bath
raises a cloud

晴天

雀の砂遊び

雲を巻き起こす

 refugees –

daydreaming of granny’s

homegrown veggies

難民

おばあちゃんの空想

自家製野菜

steep climb –

I will have to look for

another standfast

急な登り

探さなければならない

別のスタンドフアストを

golden years –

the ease of acceptance

fulfills my soul

黄金時代

受け入れやすさが

私の心を満足させる

midnight blue –

not a single star

yet so many wishes

a muddy narrow path splitting

my barking cough got lost

somewhere along the way

Comment

Inspired by fine works of haiku and haiga by Franjo Ordanić, Hidenori Hiruta introduces some Japanese Haiku (Japanese/English) on , 祖母or Grandmothers, mainly from HI (Haiku International) magazine issued by HIA (HAIKU INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION).

祖母のよう稲田の日の出拝みけり
