deep snow – 

she plans her garden

with children’s crayons

CATTAILS  proljeće 2022

duboki snijeg—

dječjim bojicama

planira svoj vrt

the shallow sea

my legs knee-high

in the sunset

the Buddha’s statue –

I’m gluing his cracked smile

after an earthquake

kipić Bude   

nakon potresa lijepim

njegov osmijeh

country border  ̶

the mixed twitter of young

house martins

državna granica –

pomiješao se cvrkut

mladih lasti

after the storm

even the spring wind

is bluish

nakon oluje

i proljetni vjetar

poplavio

*

reading in garden –

breeze moved a rose’s shadow

on my book

čitam u vrtu –

lahor je pomaknuo sjenu ruže

na mojoj knjizi

the twigs in a rain puddle …

rainbow rippling the sky

nakon oluje

lokve pune grančica…

duga mreška nebo

 first snow . . .                                                  

on red apples

melted already

prvi snijeg…                                                     

na crvenim jabukama

već otopljen

rainy day

a daisy hiding

its sun

kišni dan             

tratinčice skrivaju

svoja sunca

Silva Trstenjak has been writing poetry and haiku in Croatian, Slovenian and Kajkavian for a number of years. She takes part at haiku gatherings and haiku competitions. For her haiku she has been awarded in Croatia and abroad many times. She was a member of the judging commission at the Apokalipsa, Ljubljana (Slovenia) annual haiku contest. Her work has been selected to several anthologies in Croatia and abroad.
