He is now a retired electrician, is an amateur musician and is among the founders of the Haiku Association Three Rivers, Ivanić Grad, Croatia, and the International Kloštar Ivanić Haiku meetings. He publishes haiku in magazine Haiku and in periodicals in Ludbreg, Samobor, Krapina and Klostar Ivanic.
His haiku have been published in Japan, New Zealand, USA, and Slovenia.

In 2010, Stjepan Rozic published his second individual haiku collection titled “Song of a Nightingale”.  He kindly presented me with his collection.

Here is a book cover of his collection.

a nightingale embracing

the awaking sun and

a pear tree in blossom

daybreak

the nightingale greets me

through the open window

nightingale song

croaking and barking

weaving the summer night

spring rain

bathing the morning tune

of a soaked nightingale

nightingale’s warbling –

the morning inhales

fragrance of lilac

from the poet’s pen

a poem flows onto paper –

nightingale in the trees

before dawn

the gaudiness of

nightingale’s warbling

spring morning

adorning green trees

with nightingale’s aria

spring rain

each raindrop carrying

the song of a nightingale

spring morning

tree crowns full of nightingales

sun and blossoms

nightingale’s warbling

carried by the wind of spring

shakes down the petals

I shovel in the garden

the nightingale accompanies me

with its dulcet tones
