Haiku by Stjepan Rozic in Croatia (1)

 

Stjepan Rozic was born in Ivanic Grad, 1946 where he lives. He is now a retired electrician, is an amateur musician and is among the founders of the Haiku Association Three Rivers, Ivanić Grad, Croatia, and the International Kloštar Ivanić Haiku meetings. He writes haiku since 1996 (on literary language and the Kajkavian Dialect) and is a member of the Association of the Croatian Haiku Poets, Zagreb. He publishes haiku in magazine Haiku and in periodicals in Ludbreg, Samobor, Krapina and Klostar Ivanic.
His haiku have been published in Japan, New Zealand, USA, and Slovenia.

In 2010, Stjepan Rozic published his second individual haiku collection titled “Song of a Nightingale”.  He kindly presented me with his collection.

suburban grove –

nightingale song flows

into the spring night

 

郊外の木立

ナイチンゲールの歌が流れる

春の夜

 

 

a nightingale embracing

the awaking sun and

a pear tree in blossom

 

ナイチンゲールが抱きしめる

目覚める太陽と

花咲く梨の木と

 

 

daybreak

the nightingale greets me

through the open window

 

夜明け

ナイチンゲールが挨拶する

開いた窓から

 

 

nightingale song

croaking and barking

weaving the summer night

 

ナイチンゲールの歌

ガーガー鳴きそしてほえる

夏の夜を編みながら

 

 

spring rain

bathing the morning tune

of a soaked nightingale

 

春の雨

朝のメロディーに浸る

ずぶ濡れのナイチンゲールの

 

 

nightingale’s warbling –

the morning inhales

fragrance of lilac

 

ナイチンゲールのさえずり ―

朝が吸い込む

ライラックの芳香を

nightingale in the trees

before dawn

the gaudiness of

nightingale’s warbling

 

夜明け前

けばけばしさ

adorning green trees

with nightingale’s aria

 

春の朝

緑の木々を飾っている

ナイチンゲールのアリアで

 

 

spring rain

each raindrop carrying

the song of a nightingale

 

春の雨

雨の滴がそれぞれ運ぶ

ナイチンゲールの歌を

 

 

spring morning

tree crowns full of nightingales

sun and blossoms

 

春の朝

ナイチンゲールで一杯の樹冠

太陽と花々

 

 

nightingale’s warbling

carried by the wind of spring

shakes down the petals

 

ナイチンゲールのさえずり

春風に運ばれて

花びらをふるい落とす

 

 

I shovel in the garden

the nightingale accompanies me

with its dulcet tones

 

庭でシャベルを使う

ナイチンゲールが加わる

甘美なメロディーで
