Haiku by Stjepan Rozic in Croatia (2)

On May 12, 2013, Ms. Djurdja Vukelic Rozic sent me an e-mail, giving such a nice comment as follows.

Dear, dear Hidenori-san,

my husband, Stjepan Rozic and I thank you for posting his haiku at Akita International Haiku Network and translating them.

It is time for the nightingale’s song now.  Yesterday, I was walking my mother in a wheelchair down our street, and there on a dry bough sticking from a beautiful and so fragrant acacia in blossom, there was this tiny bird, singing, and singing, the whole white tree crown seemed to be singing!  We stopped, stood there without movement just gazing at this wonderful nightingale.  So busy with singing, did not even notice us for a while…

Some people without soul keep on catching them and making a pate/pasty from their tongues! It is forbidden by the law, of course, but…

Perhaps that’s one of the reasons why Stjepan listens to them and writes about them with so much love. For, there is no musician who will not be jealous of a nightingale’s song.

 Wishing you all the best,

Djurdja Vukelic Rozic and Stjepan Rozic
