an osprey
the sound of splashing water
in the gentle wave
ミサゴ
水しぶきの音
穏やかな波の中
Rice Planting Festival
voices of singing girls
rise and fall bamboo hats
田植えまつり
歌う女の子の声
竹の帽子を上げたり下げたり
swaying rice
from dawn till dusk
ready for harvest
揺れる稲
夜明けから夕暮れまで
収穫の準備ができている
harvest moon
new rice this year
fills old bowls
中秋の名月
今年の新米
古いボウルを満たす
good crop
the sound of falling rice
into the paper bags
良い作物
紙袋に落ちる米の音

at eating rice cakes
雪小屋まつり
雪ぐつの通過音
お餅を食べる時
glassy rice
how fragile
in the sunlight
ガラスのような米
なんて壊れやすいんでしょう
日光の下で
wandering poet
from rain to wind
cicada’s song

雨から風へ
蝉の歌

melting snowflakes
on the rice field
みぞれ
田んぼで融ける雪片
green rice seedlings

Bio:
Jolanta Kajzer – a poet born in Gdańsk, Poland.
She has received awards: Third Prize at the “Kusamakura” International Haiku Competition (Japan, 2018) and Honourable Mention in the Basho Memorial English Haiku Contest (73rd Basho Festival) in the City of Iga, Japan in 2019.
Jolanta Kajzer is a two-time recipient of the Cultural Scholarship of the City of Gdańsk.
She is a tour guide in historic dress in Gdańsk and has published two bilingual haiku poetry collections in Polish and English.
