Haiku by Robert Dudnik

 

the spring snowflakes                                                         

and purple crocuses-

black and white photo

 

春の雪

そして紫のクロッカス

黒と白の写真

 

an old umbrella

with a hole – the way

the clouds drip

 

古い傘

穴付き–方法

雲が滴る ための

 

white and blue horizon

with two dark spots –

islands in the distance

 

白と青の地平線

2つの黒っぽい斑点がある

遠くの島々

 

thousands of gnats

under the spotlight –

boiling silent life

 

何千ものブヨ

スポットライトの下に

静かな生活を沸かしている

 

a pigeon pecking the watermelon –

the seller swings his arm

as if a wing

 

スイカをつつくハト

売る人が腕を振る

翼のように

 

a trace of the plane – 

it cut my part of the sky 

in half 

 

飛行機の跡

空の私の部分をカットする

半分に

 

my tiger cat and I  

our gazes philosophized

for three seconds

 

私のジャガーネコと私

「哲学を凝視」

3秒間

 

downpour at dawn              

in the sound of drops

the magpies caw

 

夜明けに土砂降り

滴の音で

カササギが鳴く

 

Snowflake and Speckle   

at play in the lawn

sweeping the dewdrops

 

スノーフレークとスペックル

芝生で遊んで

露を一掃

 

I inhale the scent

of morning glory – its petals

glued to my nose

 

香りを吸う

朝顔の – その花びら

私の鼻に接着

Bio:

Robert Dudnik was born on January 11, 1972 in Osijek Croatia.

He Graduated from The School of Law in 1998 and in 2003 founded a “Voice of Humanity”, Civil Association for handicapped persons in the Osijek-Baranja County.

He lives and works in Osijek.

He is a disabled person (Cerebral paralysis, Tetraparesis spastica), and in his everyday life depends upon a wheelchair.

So far he’s published three books (poetry, short stories, articles). Some of his poetry has been published in joint collections and anthologies.
