morning light

dripping from the wet leaves

a cuckoo’s call

 

朝の光

濡れた葉から滴り落ちる

カッコウの鳴き声

 

first leaf buds

a magpie’s tail sticks out

from the nest

 

最初の葉のつぼみ

カササギのしっぽが突き出る

巣から

 

scent of hyacinth

fills the empty room –

mothers birthday

 

ヒヤシンスの香り

空の部屋を満たす

母の誕生日

 

magnolia flowers

an old man in a wheelchair

cleaning his glasses.

 

モクレンの花

車椅子の老人

眼鏡を掃除している

 

fallen magnolia flowers

the little girl makes

a new flower

 

落ちたモクレンの花

小さな女の子が作る

新しい花を

 

the street lamp

lights up the way

to each raindrop

 

街灯

道を照らす

雨の一滴ずつに

 

boat on the river

the fishermen’s face

wrinkled by the waves

 

川のボート

漁師の顔

波によるしわで一杯

 

blind track

along the rusty rails

time travels

 

片方がふさがった線路

さびた鉄道に沿って

時間が進む

 

wild poppies

along the barbed wire

a column of refugees

 

野生のケシ

有刺鉄線に沿って

難民の列

 

a stormy sea

in the refugees’ eyes

hope shimmering

 

嵐の海

難民の目に

希望が光る

Bio:

Zoran Doderović (1960, Novi Sad, Serbia, lives and works in Novi Sad, writes short stories, aphorisms and haiku. He is represented in many anthologies and magazines.

For his haiku he won a lot of prizes in the world. Books: Zastrupljena reka (Ljubljana, 2000), Crosswinds (Niš, 2003).

He edited haiku magazines The Haiku Moment and The Haiku informator.
