The Akita International Haiku Network welcomes submissions to its 10th annual HAIKU contest!

The organizers hope that this contest will serve as an opportunity to deepen mutual understanding among people from all over the world, and promote Japan’s traditional poetic form of HAIKU. We also hope that this contest will continue to draw attention to northern Japan’s Akita region and its luscious environment, traditions, and poet-community.

ELIGIBILITY: The contest is open to the public of any nationality in the world.
応募資格：　国籍、年齢は問いません。

ENTRY: Only one (1) haiku is allowed to be submitted per haiku poet. Haiku must be UNPUBLISHED.
投句数： 未発表句・１句

THEME: Mystery, Depth (Yūgen)
お題：「幽玄」（雑詠も可）

SUBMISSION GUIDELINE:
・Original, previously unpublished haiku should be submitted according to the entry form. Japanese or English haiku only, please.

NOTES:
・ Judges will be asked to give preference to HAIKU that are connected to the theme Mystery, Depth (Yūgen) 幽玄
・ Judges will be asked to give preference to 17 syllable HAIKU

CATEGORIES: “Open” and “Student” categories. “Student” means elementary school, middle school, high school, or university. Students MUST indicate their school affiliation or their poem will NOT be considered.

AWARDS:
Two winners from each haiku section will be notified by email in January 2022 and announced on the website of Akita International Haiku Network (https://akitahaiku.com/) . The winners from each category as well as 10 haiku of honorable mention will be published in Serow, Volume 5 (Akita International Haiku Network’s journal) and published in Spring 2022.

第10回 秋田国際俳句コンテスト

応募要項

はじめに

　2012（平成24）年5月、秋田国際俳句・川柳・短歌ネットワークは「秋田県・ロシア沿海

地方文化交流事業」、「秋田市・ウラジオストク市姉妹都市提携20周年記念行事」及び「石

井露月生誕140年記念」として日露俳句コンテストを行いました。

　2019（令和元）年11月、秋田国際俳句ネットワークが第7回日露俳句コンテストを踏襲し、

第8回秋田国際俳句コンテストを行いました。日露俳句コンテストに応募された多くの方々

から、引き続き句が寄せられ、日本語・英語両部門に57か国から413句の応募がありまし

た。

　俳句コンテストを通じて、より多くの国々に俳句が広がり、俳句を通した異文化交流の

輪が一層大きくなることを祈念いたします。寄せられた句の優秀作品をインターネットで

共有し、異文化を持つ人々の間で相互理解を深めながら、世界平和の実現のための一助

とします。
