twinkling lights

ハロウィーンのカボチャ
子供の目に
きらめく光

sweet surrender 
to the whims of the wind 
autumn leaves

甘い降伏
風の気まぐれに
紅葉

trumpet flower
hummingbird's search for nectar
hand in glove

トランペットの花
ハチドリの蜜の捜索
手袋をはめて

rejuvenation 
in the Japanese onsen
fresh apples

若返り
日本の温泉で
新鮮なリンゴ

blue bells ring
in Vivaldi's new season 
spring blossoms 

青い鐘が鳴る
ヴィヴァルディの新しい季節に
春の花

whispers of hope
in the tweets of a blue tit
spring beckons

希望のささやき
アオガラのさえずりに
春が手招きする

migrating southward
a flock of gabbling geese
brisk autumn wind

南に移動する
雁の群れ
活発な秋の風

fading lotus
mirrored in the lake
imperfectly perfect

色あせた蓮
湖に映る
不完全に完璧

old pond
the many frogs 
croaking Basho's legacy

古池
多くのカエル
芭蕉の遺産を鳴いて伝える

Bio:

Barbara Olmtak

Born in Suriname, South America, she settled in the Netherlands were she now lives for many years.

Working at secondary schools as a teacher and presently a counselor coaching pupils (with special needs and learning challenges), parents and school.

Has been writing poetry in her spare time for the past ten years and published a book containing haiku about her native country Suriname.
