You will see that Hidenori Hiruta of the Akita International Haiku Network published a collection of haiku titled Haiku Lake Tazawa.

The book has a chapter about Gozanoishi-jinja Shrine, or Dragon Shrine, which interests and charms you.

“Haiku beyond Earth” 天上俳句会

     The World Haiku Series 2022, whose theme is “Earth”, ends on February 22, 2024.

 Instead, the Akita International Haiku Network forms a new haiku group,

whose name is “Haiku beyond Earth” 天上俳句会, as the following project on March 1, 2024.

    Here are its aims and the related items. 

Aims: 

To introduce and share some of the English haiku poems from more than 100 collections of haiku sent by more than 100 authors around the world. They are showcased with Japanese translation.

To introduce and share some of the Japanese haiku written by haijin, or haiku poets. They are showcased with English translation. The grammar and meanings of words used in haiku are also introduced in English.

To introduce and share 10 English haiku sent by any haijin, or any haiku poet around the world. They are showcased with Japanese translation.    

Eligibility: Open to all!

Theme: Any subject is OK!

Language: English

Haiku:

  • Ten haiku per person
  • Photo haiku is also OK.
  • No problem whether published or unpublished
