Haiku by Stjepan Rozic in Croatia (4)

2013/06/09

Yesterday I failed to post ‘Haiku by Stjepan Rozic in Croatia(4) ’, which invited good luck to me.

This morning I unexpectedly found such an exciting mail from his wife, Ms. Djurdja Vukelic Rozic , which was a nice surprise, as follows.

Dear Hidenori-san,

thank you for your kind message.  Yesterday we were in the town of Krapina, there we have annual haiku meeting to the memory of Croatian foremost haiku poet Dubravko Ivancan (1931-1982), who wrote such wonderful haiku during sixties and seventies of the XX century.  He was the best friend of late Vladimir Devide.  There we met many of our haiku pals, and two of them asked me to send their haiku to your contest.  They don’t seem to get acquainted with the computer.

Here is a photo of their annual haiku meeting.

This is the photo:  Gallery of the town of Krapina, Croatia:  Mrs. Sonja Borovcak, The former Prefect of Krapina-Zagorje county, Mr. Zeljko Kolar, the new Prefect , His Excellency, Mr.Masaru Tsuji and many others on the 15th Haiku Day Dubravko Ivancan in Krapina, Croatia.  It’s an annual haiku meeting of Croatian haiku poets with a contest for haiku in Croatian standard language and the Kajkavian Dialect.  This year, altogether for the third time, Stjepan Rozic has taken the first prize (this year for haiku in Kajkavian dialect) and Malvina Mileta for haiku in Croatian.  On the wall, the paintings are illustrations of the winning haiku.  The first prizes are given as a gift to the winners.  Second and third prize haigas become a part of a permanent exhibition in the Gallery of the town of Krapina.

And here is another photo.
