Let haiku be on the UNESCO list!
Here is a letter of support of the campaign from Mr. Đermano Vitasović, Croatia.
The former half is written in English, and the latter half in Croatian.
We sincerely wish to appreciate and share it with each other.
Dear Sirs, Akito Arima and Hidenori Hiruta
With my wish to support haiku, I send you my thoughts, trying to say how haiku helped to me and how it helps his readers and poets.
FROM WORDLY TO COSMIC
Writing haiku gave me a possibility to feel a shape of existence in a “simple way“, in this world of transience.
My existence, by a drop of life nectar I owe to Nature.
Cloaked with unwritten legalities and characteristics of general environment.
On my way of penetrating to the essence of: changes, beauty of year’s seasons, birth and death, I came to understanding that my arms, touching other people, may embrace the world, as well.
World of awareness is wonderful, inscrutable, unique, beautiful and burdensome.
Haiku heals by upgrading broadness onto vertical, from earthly towards the cosmic.

OD ZEMALJSKOG KA SVEMIRSKOM
Pisanje haikua darovalo mi je mogućnost “jednostavnim” načinom osjetiti oblik postojanja u svijetu prolaznosti.
Moje bivstvo, kapljicom životnog nektara dugujem prirodi.
Zaogrnut nepisanim zakonitostima i osobitostima sveopćeg okolja.
Na putu pronicanja u bit: mijenja, ljepote godišnjih doba, rađanja i umiranja,došao sam do spoznaje da i moje ruke dotičući druge u stanju su obgrliti svijet.
Svijet jave:čudesan, nedokučiv, jedinstven, lijep i tegoban.
Haiku liječi nadograađivanjem širine na vertikalu od zemaljskog ka svemirskom.
