 wintry landscape –

snowy owl drops

the letter at her door

 

冬の風景

シロフクロウが落とす

彼女の戸口に手紙を

dark castle-
starlight kissed her
white casket

 

暗い城－

星の光が

彼女の白い柩にキスをする

With the smell of Dahlia
boy feels his
hair sprouting

 

ダリアの香りで

少年は感じる

彼の発芽を

Bed full of roses
death proceeds in the
voice of a cicada

 

バラでいっぱいのベッド

死が進行する

セミの声の中で

March’s rain
breaks the silence
of a dry summer

 

三月の雨

乾燥した夏の沈黙を破る

February fourteenth
yellowish nature
springs into life

黄色がかった自然

命を吹き込む

winter morning
milk and java welcome
their baby sugars

 

冬の朝

ミルクとコーヒーが歓迎

彼らのベビーシュガーを

night falls,

she feels the heat from his skin

under the blanket

 

夜が来る

彼女は彼の肌の熱さを感じる

毛布の下で

scent from a mixed bouquet

goes backward and
pulls the friends forward

 

いろいろな花が混じった花束

後方に行き、

友だちを引き寄せる

Tears of joy
suddenly fall in 
the bowl of ramen

 

喜びの涙

突然落ちる

Bio:

Iffat Jahan Suchona is a budding haiku writer.

Presently she is teaching at a university in Bangladesh.

She started writing haiku when she herself was a university student. Suchona became interested in haiku after reading some translated haiku written by the most famous Japanese poet Matsuo Bashō.

In her free time, she loves to watch movies and sometimes she composes haiku.
