A line and the wind —
the kite floats… floats…
So freely… so freely…
糸と風 –
凧が漂う…漂う…
とても自由に…とても自由に…
My little space —
the blue sea and the blue sky
What is the world beyond like?
私の小さな世界 —
青い海と青い空
向こうの世界はどんなかしら?
Migrating birds —
Sun, moon, earth, sea
survival instinct!
渡り鳥 —
太陽、月、地球、海
生存本能
Anthurium flowers —
White, red, pink, green…
So many hearts! To whom?
アンスリウムの花 –
白、赤、ピンク、緑…
とても多くの心! どなたに?
Flowery rose beds
a thousand colours smelling the same scent.
Ah, Spring!
花のようなバラのベッド
同じ香りの匂う千色
ああ、春!
Total whiteness!
In the loneliness of the fog
The city sleeps.
完全な白さ!
霧の孤独の中
街は眠る
Emerge in the lake
exotic flowers and leaves
Monet’s plants here…
池に現れる
エキゾチックな花と葉
モネの草花…
A jump onto the falls!
The brightness of the scales —
the last mission!
滝へのジャンプ!
スケールの明るさ —
最後のミッション!
Man, science, sun…
In the vast yellow field
Sunflowers to lose sight of
人、科学、太陽…
広大な黄色のフィールドで
見失う向日葵

IRENE MASSUMI FUKE, 78 years old, retired Portuguese teacher, a graduated from USP (São Paulo University).
Japanese immigrant parents (mother from Ehime, father from Hokkaido).
The Haiku tradition was passed on to me by my mother.
