Haiku by Margaret Mahony

 

school pickup

waiting for

my grandson’s smile

 

学校への送迎

孫の笑顔を待っている

 

still water

a jellyfish

kisses the surface

 

たまり水

クラゲが表面にキス

 

evening

moon shadows

on the gnome’s face

 

夕方

月が徐々に過ぎる

地の精の顔の上を

 

birdsong

morning light

on a glass lake

 

鳥のさえずり

朝の光

ガラスのような湖の上

 

before sunrise

I sit with the stars

waiting…

 

日の出前に

星と一緒に座ります

待ちながら…

 

evening shadow

covering her

in sadness

 

夕影

彼女を覆う

悲しみの中

 

with the sunrise

I see

the colour of hope

 

日の出とともに

見えてくる

希望の色

 

pre dusk

in a silhouette of trees

birdsong

 

夕暮れ前

木の影絵の中で

鳥のさえずり

 

winter chill

the flutter

of bird wings

 

冬の寒さ

鳥の翼の羽ばたき

 

winter stillness

bluestone cathedral

stained with age

 

冬の静けさ

青い砂岩の大聖堂

年齢で汚れている

 

 

Bio:

Margaret Mahony lives in NSW Australia and belongs to a writer’s group and also a Haiku Group where they have a Ginko each season.

She has been writing since 2003 and has been published in writer’s magazines, journals and on line.

Her passion is Haiku.
