train rumbling
over the iron bridge –
crickets again
電車がゴウゴウ音を立てて進む
鉄橋を越えて
再びコオロギ
lights of Paris –
only the moon the same
as in Croatia
パリの明かり
月だけが同じ
クロアチアと
a long night –
under the bedside lamp,
dead poets
長い夜
ベッドサイドのランプの下に
死んだ詩人
I feel autumn
even in her kiss: a cold nose
and warm lips
秋を感じる
彼女のキスにさえ:冷たい鼻
そして暖かい唇
evening chill –
a stray tomcat warms himself
on the car’s hood
夕方の寒さ
迷子の雄ネコが自分を温める
車のボンネットの上で
old cypresses
leading me to your grave –
ah, memories!
古い糸杉
私をあなたの墓に導く
ああ、思い出!
clatter of a walnut
rolling on the roof…
drops into silence
クルミのカタカタする音
屋根の上を転がっている
静寂に落ちる
a boy offers popcorn
with his trembling hand –
approaching fawn
少年がポップコーンを差し出す
震えている手で
子鹿に近づいて
winter morning –
our baby tapping
from her belly
冬の朝
私たちの赤ちゃんが軽く打ちつける

snow in the morning –
pajama-clad children
at the window

Tomislav Maretić (March, 03.1951) is a MD (a specialist for infectious diseaseses) from Zagreb city, Croatia.
He has been writing haiku for almost forty years and his haiku have received several awards and prizes.
He lives in Gornje Vrapče, a picturesque village near the Croatian capital city with his wife and four children.
