Biography:

Xenia Tran was born in The Netherlands in 1962 and lives in the Scottish Highlands with her husband and two adopted whippets.

She blogs at whippetwisdom.com and tranature.com.

Her poems have appeared on television, in online poetry journals, print magazines and anthologies.

Her first collection of poems and photographs Sharing Our Horizon – A Journey through the Scottish Highlands with Two Adopted Whippets was published in September 2018 in aid of animal rehoming charities.

Her second collection Between Heather and Grass – Poems Filled with Love, Hope and Whippets was published in October 2019 in aid of Children with Cancer UK and animal rehoming charities.

Both books are available in paperback, ebook and Kindle editions.

Haiku offers her the opportunity to pause, to be fully present in a moment and to connect with that moment in a few simple words. It is a breathing space in a busy life, a breathing space that she will always treasure.

  1. Reblogged this on Whippet Wisdom – a Highland Journey and commented:
We are deeply honoured and delighted to share our haiku with haiku friends in the world and appreciate each other’s haiku as part of the World Haiku Series 2019, celebrating the 330th anniversary of Bashõ’s visit to Kisakata at the same time. A special thank you to Mr Hidenori Hiruta for his beautiful Japanese translations.

  2. Thank you so much for your beautiful translations and for allowing me to part of this beautiful series celebrating haiku poetry. Yours sincerely with best wishes, Xenia

  3. Beauty in few words. I love haiku and tanka. However my own attempts fall short compared to these.

  4. Thank you very much for your inspiring comments.
It is my great pleasure in life to meet haiku friends on the website, sharing haiku with each other.
Thanks a million again for having given such a good time, a rich source of inspiration, and a big delight. Hidenori Hiruta
