A red butterfly
quivering upon a rose…
ephemeral glow

 

赤い蝶

バラに震える

一時的な熱情 

 

Visiting hours…

mum calls me by a name

from her repertoire

 

訪問時間

母が私を名前で呼ぶ

彼女のレパートリーから

 

Social distancing…
when will it ever become
a remote memory?

 

人と人との間隔を保つ

いつになるのだろうか

遠い思い出に

 

Example for me…
my birds chirping lustily
locked up in their cage

 

私のための見本

鳥が元気いっぱいに囀っている

籠に閉じ込められて

 

A vagrant confined
in his cardboard box
on the empty street

 

閉じ込められた浮浪者

段ボール箱に

人通りのない路上

 

Coronavirus…
massive scam uncovered
with the sale of masks

 

コロナウイルス

大規模な詐欺が発見された

マスクの販売で 

 

A fisherman’s oars
caress the glittering sea…
symphony of light

 

漁師のオール

きらめく海を優しく撫でる

光のシンフォニー

 

Christmas truce
in a war zone…
cries of a newborn

 

クリスマス休戦

戦争地帯で

新生児の産声 

 

Spasms of colour
in a mosaic of clouds…
murmur of the waves

 

色の爆発

雲のモザイクで

波のつぶやき

 

A turbulent wind
blows upon the windowpanes…
sketches of snowflakes

 

乱気流

窓ガラスに強く吹きあたる

Short Bio:

Keith A. SIMMONDS was born in Barbados and is a citizen of both Trinidad & Tobago and France.

He was a teacher of French language and literature at the secondary-school level in Trinidad & Tobago for twenty-five years.

He is a lover of all types of poetry and writes haiku seriously since 2004. Some of his works appear in Mainichi Daily News, Capoliveri, Cascina Macondo, Simply Haiku, Yamadera Basho Memorial Museum Haiku, Revista de Interferente Culturale Romano-Japoneze, Shamrock IHS
