Bio:
Residing in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, Hifsa Ashraf is a pioneer in her country for writing modern Japanese-style micropoetry in English.
Her work has been widely published in international journals, magazines, blogs and anthologies.
As an editor she jointly curates the Haiku Commentary blog and is the founding editor of the bilingual micropoetry magazine Saawan Rut.
She also writes poetry in Urdu and Punjabi.
She is the author of three micropoetry books on social issues and gender-based taboos and received special mention in the Touchstone Distinguished Books Award 2020 for her poetry collection ‘Her Fading Henna Tattoo’.
