moonlit fields

後
長い笛
月明かりの野原 
 
on the 
still mill owner’s roof also —
hailstones 

上に
静かな製紛場の所有者の屋根も
あられ 
 
among the cold stones
somehow a single lily —
my fifty two years

冷たい石の間
どういうわけか一輪の百合
私の52年間

spring drizzle . . .
the weather app is slow
to upgrade
 
春の霧雨
天気アプリが遅い
格上げへ
 
one hundred and eight
water streams to wash my sins —
end of pilgrimage

百八
私の罪を洗う水の流れ
巡礼の終わり

summer noon . . .
the astrologer yawns 
and spreads my palm

夏の昼.
占星術師はあくびをする
そして私の手のひらを広げる 
 
departing cold . . .
my friend's train arrives
an hour late

遠のく寒さ
友達の電車が到着
1時間遅れ 
 
cold evening . . .
the female mannequin’s
blood - red lips

寒い夕方
女性のマネキン人形の
血のように赤い唇
 
spring breeze . . .
dad refuses another
chemo shot

春風
父さんは別のものを拒否する

Bio:

Kanchan Chatterjee was twice winner of NHK—Haiku Masters series in Japan.

He was a second prize winner of 21st.

Mainichi Haiku Contest, Japan (in 2017), Second Prize in ‘Sharpening the green pencil haiku contest’ organized by Romanian Kukai group (in 2019), he has also got Honorable mentions in 73rd.

Basho Memorial Haiku Contest, 2019 ( Organized by Iga City, japan), 2017, Eto en Oi Ocha haiku contest, Japan, 2017 and Wild Plum haiku Contest, 2015.

He received the third prize in Wild Plum haiku Contest, 2018 among others. He is the author of Scattered Leaves — a collection of haiku, 2020; a contributor to Beyond the Fields (a trilingual anthology of haiku), 2017 and some other anthologies.
