of a flat stone 
bluegills leap

平らな石の
ブルーギルが跳ぶ

snow flurries 
a horse’s nostrils
twitch

風花
馬の鼻孔が
ぴくぴく動く

pines on fire 
antlers rise and fall
in white water

燃える松
枝角が上下する
白い水の中

melting icicle 
a sparrow showers
drip by drip

溶ける氷柱
雀がシャワーを浴びる
一滴ずつ 

dewdrops
on an iris petal 
the cat's tongue 

露の滴
アイリスの花びらに
猫の舌

old pond
Basho jumps in
sound of laughter

古池
芭蕉が飛び込む
笑い声

fallen branches
after the ice storm
hint of primrose

倒れた枝
氷の嵐の後
サクラソウの兆し

blossoming
at just the right time 
butterfly bush 

開花
ちょうどいいタイミングで
フジウツギ

clearing sky
the butterfly decides
on a violet

晴天
蝶が決心する
スミレの上で

plum blossoms
a turtle tilts its head
toward the sun

梅の花
カメが頭を傾ける
