bakery man
enjoying egg after egg
- early morning

パン屋の職人
卵を次から次に楽しむ
早朝

on father’s beads
threaded one – by - one
h i s  s o r r o w s

父の数珠に
一つずつ糸で縫い合わされている
彼の悲しみ

h a i k u -
shrinking the world
in three lines

俳句
世界を縮小する
三行で

from the tree
eating plums
full ripe ...

木から
プラムを食べる
完熟

almost full
the moon acts - as
a half revert

ほぼいっぱい
月が振舞う
半分元に戻るように

my voice -
far away from me
at the distance

私の声
私から遠く離れる
遠くに

m o o n l i g h t
nesting on the crevice
of her breasts

月光
彼女の胸の隙間に
ぴったり収まる

seaside ...
salmon assaults
the darkness

海辺
鮭が襲撃する
闇を

pearls -
rolling away
her loneliness

真珠
転がり離す
彼女の孤独を

Soocooold

とっても寒い

velvet dress
a l t e r s her edgy voice
in softness

ビロードのドレス
彼女の鋭い声を変える

On October 12, 2018, she participated in the Basho Festival held in Iga Ueno, Mie Prefecture, Japan.  To her great delight and honor, Reshida Coba recited and dedicated her award-winning haiku to Matsuo Basho.

others feed them

  1. Coba’s poem ‘ homeless day… reveals her contrasting intention, to keep the homeless people happy. Third line is vibrant.
