Bio:
Margherita Petriccione is a retired math teacher born on November 19, 1947 in Scauri (LT), a seaside village from which she has drawn inspiration for many of her poems, as from her tiny garden where she finds serenity and communion with nature. She felled in love with haiku at first sight and found in it the poetic form closest to her sensibility. She published the collection of haiku and tanka: "Il Pino e il Bambù", edit.by Mnamon Among his awards and others honors: 1st place MHP Academy "quickie writing challenge" dedicated to D-Day, June, 2018; Honorable mention Premio Letterario Internazionale Matsuo Bashō 2016; 2nd prize at the Italian language competition LA COULEUR D’UN POEME (2018); Nomination at the Basho-an International English Haiku Competition 2018; 2nd prize at The 23rd Mainichi Haiku Contest 9 Her works appear in prestigious on-line and print magazines including: The Mainichi, The Asahi Shimbun, Hedgerow, Under the Basho, Ephemerae ; Skylark tanka Journal ;Cattails; Atlas Poetica .
