Bio:
Maria Teresa Piras is a retired teacher and lives in Serrenti, a town in Sardinia. She is passionate about books and poetry, when she discovered haiku she fell in love with it. The colors, the scents, the wind and the sea of her island are a source of inspiration for her. Some of her haiku have been published in magazines and blogs: ESUJ-H, STARDUST HAIKU, THE HAIKU FOUNDATION, ASAHI HAIKUIST NETWORK, MEMORIE DI UNA GEISHA MULTIBLOG, AUTUMN MOON HAIKU JOURNAL, COLDMOONJOURNAL, HAIKUNIVERSE, LUKE'S WATER LILIES, WALES HAIKU JOURNAL, OTATA. Other of her haiku have gained recognition in literary competitions and prizes. A collection of his haiku, in Italian, " Si sfogliano i gerani sul davanzale" was published in 2018 by Immaginarte. Her haiku are present in various anthologies in Italian and, translated into Japanese, in various volumes published by Haiku University. She was included in the "TOP 100 HAIKU EUROPEAN" of 2020 and 2021.
