1

秋深み惑ふことなく熊笹にやすらふ紅葉の去りがたきかも

 

deep autumn

no ambivalence any more

a red maple leaf

resting on the bamboo grass

… it may be hard to leave

 

 

2

人知れぬ野のうもれ木の朽葉散り落ちしさへ光(て)り色あだにせじ

 

don’t be in vain

even the hue

of dead leaves fallen

from unknown trees in fields

…shining as they are

 

 

3

一夜あけ刈田の原の朝かげに稲茎こたへ露霜こぼる

 

night has passed…

receiving morning sun

frosty dew

of rice plant’s stalks

gleams in the harvested fields

真昼時 ゆるび待つ我が時の間に一条の真人の光しのび来

 

at midday

a shaft of sunlight in Mato Park

slipping into my time

while I wait freewheelingly

雲割きて霜月の野に光一条綺羅に差す…雪降る前に

 

breaking clouds

a beam of light shines

bright

onto a misty grey field

before the snowfall

初雪にうなだれ咲くも紅薔薇のたましひ溢るる五次元かも

 

even though

blooming with bowing

due to first snow …

a spirit of red rose

may overflow in five dimensions

 

※I composed this tanka when I saw the first snow Nov. 23rd. 2018.

We had it late at night, Nov. 22nd.

こちらの1首は11月23日に初雪を見たときに詠いました。初雪は11月22日の夜遅く降りました。

枝（え）にとまる疎らの熟柿うかび光（て）る… 朝日満ちくる冬枯れの野に

 

sparse ripe persimmons at twigs

float and brighten in air

through

the rising morning sun…

the desolate winter fields

吟遊の踏み行く道にあらずかも天（あま）に描かるる鳥のあとまつ

 

it may not be

the way for a minstrel

waiting for

words drawn by birds

in the welkin

 

※尚、私は目下、未来短歌会(短歌結社)、室生犀星学会、秋田インターナショナル俳句．川柳．短歌ネットワークの会員になっております。最近、私が加入している短歌結社とは別の結社の方から加入を誘われましたが、この1首をお添えしてお断り致しました。写真は先月11月,秋田県由利本荘市鳥海町で撮った鳥海山です。
Now, I am a member of <Mirai Tanka Association> <Muro Saisei Society> and <Akita International Haiku, Senryu and Tanka Network>.
By the way, a member of other tanka association made me an offer of joining it but I declined his offer attaching the above tanka.  About the photo, it is Mt. Chokai taken by me, at Chokaimachi, Yurihonjo City, Akita, Japan, last month, November 2018.

めくるめく一過とならむ時ふれば顧(かへり)て君に幸多かれと

 

a dazzling memory

everything fading away

as time passes

I look back and sigh

wishing you all the best

風凍り華麗なるもの閉ざされぬ山しづやかに眠りにおちて

 

icy winds

closed the splendid…

mountains

have fallen into

a silent sleep
