mom‘s gifts for Christmas…
the second sock left
unfinished knitting

 

ママのクリスマスのプレゼント...

二番目の靴下

編み終えられていない

 

flying above the clouds –
overhead
another sky

 

雲の上を飛んでいる-

頭上に

別の空

 

first buds…
the only wish
to stay longer

 

最初の芽...

唯一の願い

もっといたい

 

a handful of snow…
fragrant sky
from childhood

 

一握りの雪...

香り高い空

子供の頃から

 

a sudden downpour
brings us to the doorstep
of an open church

 

突然の土砂降り

開かれた教会の玄関口に逃げ込む

 

blooming orchard…
in a dream I meet my mom
as old as me

 

花の咲く果樹園...

夢の中で私は母に会う

同じくらいの年齢

 

midsummer dew…
loud laughter rises
birds to the sky

 

真夏の露...

大きな笑い声が起こる

鳥が空に向かって

 

field of forget-me-nots –
I remember everything I want
to forget

 

ワスレナグサの野-

私は忘れたいことを

全て覚えている

 

a child fills his bucket
with sunset twinkle
from the peak of wave

 

子供がバケツを一杯にする

夕焼けの輝きで

波のピークから

 

short summer…
grannie is learning the language
of her grandchild

 

短い夏...

おばあちゃんが孫から

言葉を学んでいる

Short Bio

Goda Virginija Bendoraitienė is from Lithuania, lives in Klaipėda and works as a private English teacher now.

Photographing nature, embroidering portraits, writing and reading haiku, as well as creating haiga – are forms of meditation for her.
Since 2010 she has been arranging haiku competitions on the Lithuanian literary site.
Many of Goda’s haiku and haiga works were awarded and included in International and Lithuanian haiku anthologies, e-books and e-magazines, such as,
“World Haiku” (Japan), “A Vast Sky” (USA), “Rossinki” (Moscow), “Diogen” magazine, “Nature In The Eye” (Montenegro), “Iris International” (Croatia), “Butterfly Dream”, 68th Basho Festival Anthology, Basho Memorial Museum (Japan), “Blade Of The Wind” (Lithuania) and others.
Haiku publications in six annual selections in Japan’s National Daily “The Mainichi” and haiga selection in WHAC9 Haiga Exhibition in Parma, Italy, Sept. 8 – 10, 2017 inspired for her haiku book “Dew From The Willow”, which was published in 2019.
