summer breeze

the soft rustle

of meadow grass

 

夏のそよ風

牧草地の草の柔らかいカサカサという音

 

storm surge

the crackle and crunch

of river ice

 

高潮

川の氷のパチパチとバリバリという音

 

rust belt

the sun sets

on an old factory building

 

ラスト地帯

夕日が沈む

古い工場の建物に

 

spring greens

the fleeting shimmer

of a dragonfly’s wing

 

春の緑

トンボの翼のつかの間のきらめき

 

tenement garden

a milkweed bloom

becomes a monarch

 

家の庭

トウワタの花が君主になる

 

night sky hallucination

at the Milky Way’s edge

Zarathustra Speaks

 

夜空の幻覚

天の川の端で

ザラスシュトラが話す

 

coronal mass ejection

a spark shoots out

from the campfire flames

 

コロナ質量放出

キャンプファイヤーの炎から火花が飛び出す

 

blizzard white-out

not seeing past

my expectations

moon landing

a fly touches down

on my pie crust

Bio:

Jay Friedenberg is a member of the Haiku Society of America and Associate Editor for its journal Frogpond effective 2018 -.

He is a regular attendee and presenter at the New York Metro HSA organization.

He is also a member of the Spring Street Haiku Group in New York City. Jay has won numerous awards for his haiku and is accepted regularly into many U.S. and international journals.

His second book titled Elemental from Red Moon Press was on the short list for the 2016 Touchstone Award.
