悲しみの杯を少しずつ飲む ―

withstands frost
together with a jumping dog
孤独な男が霜に耐える
飛び跳ねる犬と一緒に

in the opera house – deep silence
of the audience
オペラハウスの高音―
聴衆の深い沈黙

flaming up
from flattened poppies
hiding our love
平らなケシから燃え上がっている
私たちの愛を隠している

Jessamine smells again
in old folks home
Through a sad story
ジャスミンがまたにおう
お年寄りの家で
悲しい物語を通して

from afar
the thunder echoes
with her fear
遠くから
雷が響く
彼女の恐怖と共に

cracked soil caused

grass blades wetted by tears

what a comfort? –

Bio:
Jovanka Božić was born on January 20th ,1953, in Vrelo (Ub). Now she lives in Valjevo, Serbia, Europe. She is teacher of sociology.
She published her study Art in the light of award (1995). She had her collection haiku poems Transparent cloud (2000). This book was published in Romanian 2001, (bilingual Serbian – Romanian edition).
At the 14th Poetry haiku fest in Odžaci (2003) she was awarded with the second prize for haiku poem. Again she was awarded with the second prize in 2011.
In the second international poetry senryu competition of the magazine Lotos she was awarded with the second prize. Her poems are published in three international haiku collections of Lotos.
Her poems are published in the haiku anthology Above emptiness (2002). She published the collection of stories “Zraci” (Rays) in 2015.
Jovanka Božić received the merits at the 2nd “Kusamakura” International Haiku Competition, at the City of Kumamoto (Japan), in 2017.
As a painter she participated in 30 art colonies in her country and abroad. She presented her works on individual and group exhibitions.
