Short bio:

Haiku by Thomas Canull are known in Japan, Russia, India

and other countries.

Over the past few years Haikuist Thomas has had three books published: The Lonely Crane, The Dragonfly Darts, The Origami Crane.

It is from these books that he enjoys teaching the fundamentals of Haiku and how it can change one’s perception of the world around them.

Thomas lives his life by the Japanese philosophy ‘ichi-go ichi-e’ which translates in English to ‘one moment one opportunity’ …

for we are given life one moment at a time and within each moment are a myriad opportunities to help others on their journey through life.

Thomas also lives by the following mantra which he hopes is being fulfilled through his Haiku:

‘when I leave this world I want to leave it a better place for my having been here ‘

Here are a photo of a bird and a message kindly and delightedly presented by Mr. Thomas Canull for the World Haiku Series 2019.

Hiruta san,

Congratulations on your new adventure !

Since last I heard from you I too have been on a new adventure.

Have moved to a very small island by the name of Matlacha

just west of the coastal city Cape Coral which is in Florida.

The picture, taken from my patio, is of one of the many species

of birds here on the island and is an Osprey .

Enclosed are some of my most recent Haiku and I hope some are

worthy of your publication.
