A crisp, shiny air
Mixed deep in my nostrils
With a sweet scent of acacia

Pink mallows so tiny
By my old apartment
Don’t be so humble, kids

A drizzling rain
On rusty rails
Peony buds yet to unfold

Wisteria vines
Reaching for a treetop
Only to touch a cool wind

Fragrant roses at a clinic
All planned last year
In his wife’s gardening note

Lavender bushes
Facing in the same direction
In a cheerful greeting

An early summer breeze
Looking down the bottomless sky
Reflected in rice fields

Weakening Father
Sleeps
Between his fantasy and reality

Stiffened limbs
Lying in a rented bed
Hydrangea blooming outside

With all his might
Father’s yummy bite
From a whole big peach

Ms. Mizuki Ishiwatari kindly and delightedly presented her favorite photos to the World Haiku Series 2020.

Profile:
I live in Daisen City, Akita Prefecture, Japan now.
This time my haiku are about flowers and my father, who passed away in July.
I hear there are a lot of haiku lovers and poets.
I am a beginner in English haiku, so there may be mistakes, but I’d be happy if I could share them in World Haiku Series.
Thank you for reading.
