the first snow
arrives by ferry

川の港
最初の雪
フェリーで到着

fallen star...
small sharp stone
inside a sandal

落ちた星
小さな鋭い石
サンダルの中

wet sidewalk
maple covers with leaves
its reflection

濡れた歩道
カエデの葉で覆う
その反射

family ties --
old ivy encircles
the house walls

家族のきずな  
古いツタが取り囲む
家の壁を

summer downpour
eggs are fried
in a pan

夏の土砂降り
卵を揚げる
鍋に

history textbook
yellow maple leaf
between two eras

歴史教科書
黄色いカエデの葉
二つの時代の間に

family mirror
my other self
coming out of the dusk

家族の鏡
私の他の自分
夕暮れから出てくる

native street
the wind directs road dust
to the tea house threshold

ネイティブストリート
風が道路のほこりを導く
喫茶店の敷居まで

 visiting hours
 a ray of sun peeks
 into the hospital room
