As an online tool for educators teaching haiku, we recommend this video created by David McMurray (professor at International University of Japan) and his seminar students. 
The video teaches students how to write haiku and photo-haiku and how to participate in haiku contests. 
The video demonstrates how seminar students created an educational video. This English lecture has the power to entertain you, too.
 
 The video is aimed at middle and high school students, but is equally suitable for grades 5 and up. 
As an added bonus, students learn how to participate in photo-haiku contests in Matsuyama and Kagoshima.
